Lisa Hollis
Lisa Hollis began her violin studies at the age of five with Suzuki violin teacher Ellie Albers LeRoux. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and English literature from Milligan College and a Master of Music degree in violin performance with an emphasis in Suzuki pedagogy from Northern Arizona University. Her primary violin instructors include Dr. Louise Scott, Mark Zelmanovich, and Dr. Kellie Brown. She has done additional studies with James Maurer, Shlomo Mintz, Mark Bjork, and William Barbini. She has studied violin Suzuki pedagogy with Louise Scott, Ellie Albers LeRoux, Dr. Kellie Brown, Libby Armour, Linda Fiore, Ed Kreitman, Karin Hallberg, and Dorothy Jones.
Ms. Hollis has taught violin and viola Talent Education of Appalachia, Northern Arizona Preparatory School, and most recently at the Bermuda School of Music. She has been a guest clinician at music workshops in Tennessee, Arizona, and South Dakota.
Ms. Hollis also enjoys conducting and has served as conductor for the Milligan College Concert Choir, the Flagstaff Youth Orchestra, the Northern Arizona University Orchestra, as well as for the Bermuda School of Music’s Youth Orchestra.
She is a registered Kindermusik instructor and has also completed training in Suzuki Early Childhood Education.
Ms. Hollis recently performed as a soloist in the Bermuda School of Music’s Some Enchanted Evening concert. She has also performed as part the Bermuda Music Festival, the Bermuda Philharmonic Orchestra, and Bermuda Festival Orchestra. She has performed with Josh Groban, Smokey Robinson, Quincy Jones, Kenny Rogers, John Ingram, Patti Austin, John Legend, and Michael McDonald.
